OUR STORY
Harbor & Hayes was built on one simple belief. Warm should never mean shapeless.
For too long, women have been told to pick one. Warm or flattering. Cozy or put together. Practical or beautiful. We never believed that. A good sweater does both at once, and the moment you're asked to choose, someone cut a corner in the knitting.
OUR MISSION
To make pieces that keep you warm and still look like you. Knits that soften instead of scratch. Shoulders that sit where shoulders actually sit. Ponchos and hoodies you pull on with your first cup of coffee and forget about until the lights go out. Made for real island weather, real bodies and real days, not for a catalog.
OUR VISION
A world where a woman opens her closet on a grey, windy morning and finds something waiting there that she loves. Where the warmest thing you own is also the thing you feel best in. Where the cold months are something to settle into, not something to get through.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
Warmth first, always. Every style has to pass one test before anything else: would we wear it on the ferry dock at New Shoreham with the wind coming off the Sound? If the answer is no, it never reaches the shop.
Made to be kept. We wear every new style ourselves before it goes on the rack. If the hood doesn't fall right or the hem loses its shape, it goes back. [X] years in, we've never skipped that part.
Real women, real weather. We dress women who dress for themselves. Women who want to look like themselves at sixty-five, not like someone else at forty.
Quality you can feel. Deep ribbing at the cuff and hem so the shape holds all season. Knits that get softer the more you wear them. Pieces you reach for year after year.
OUR PROMISE
When you shop with Harbor & Hayes, you're not just buying a sweater. You're getting a little piece of the island: salt air, slow mornings and a shop where the kettle is always on and everyone is welcome to come in from the cold.
You don't have to live on Block Island to feel at home with us.
